There are no shortage of drum covers on YouTube of legendary Japanese band X-Japan. In fact, we recently saw even a Japanese mascot pull off an impressive performance, one so well done that even Yoshiki showed up to give his props. And while banging out X-Japan's classic hit "Kurenai" with stubby mascot arms is difficult enough, the most impressive cover of it may belong to Torataro-kun, a 4-year-old drummer who performed the song at a retirement home.

Torataro-kun has been drumming since the age of 3, and even though it hasn't been that long, this prodigy is able to bang out drum performances that would make even some seasoned adults blush. He's been featured on several television programs and holds performances around Japan, but giving the folks at this retirement home a treat may be one of his kindest. While you might not think of metal as a very retirement home-friendly genre, Toratoro-kun made sure to let his audience get nostalgic about the good 'ol days by also covering popular music Japan's Showa Era--right when his listeners would have been dancing around themselves.

You can catch more performances like this on his Facebook and YouTube channel.
