Every February, the annual Sapporo Snow Festival in Hokkaido seems to level up in quality, displaying massive and beautiful snow sculptures, many of which feature popular anime and video game characters. This year turned out to be a treat for Final Fantasy fans. Once they finished putting down their gigantic Ultima Weapon forks, attendees this year were treated to a reenactment of the battle between Cloud and Sephiroth!

As if the towering snow structures of the two iconic characters wasn't enough, they also served as a canvas for some brilliant projection mapping that dazzled the crowd.

The impressive scene is a celebrating of the twentieth anniversary of Final Fantasy VII's release, and takes the artistic display potential of the Snow Festival to a whole new level with music and scene mapping from the game featured at night.
