The Kawaii Monster Café is the epitome of Harajuku fashion culture. Although on the surface it seems unbearably cute, everything has a slightly twisted underbelly, as though a rainbow vomited all over it. Ever popular with tourists and fashionable teenage girls, recently even Kim Kardashian made a visit.
Kawaii Monster Café is the perfect place to eat if you like to enjoy your food in what could be the adorably warped set of a new Kyary Pamyu Pamyu music video. But just because they’re monsters doesn’t mean they’re not looking forward to spring like the rest of the nation. Forget cherry blossom mochi and Frappucinos though, dishes in this joint have to have a freaky kawaii twist!

This burger takes the form of a monster excited for sakura season and comes with a three coloured dango, a spring staple.

In a nod to Japanese icon Mount Fuji, this rice volcano rises out of a salad forest, erupting meat and cheddar cheese.

You can dip bread, vegetables and poisonous monster eggs into this cheese fondue. The cheese was harvested from insectivorous plants. Looks like spring is finally here!

This dessert depicts an island of sweets floating in the sky. In a collaboration with Lotte, their famous koala treats frolic on a custard cake island.

The next one depicts the 'Easter monster', Pink Rabbit. A custard cake with a mini chocolate pie and strawberry cream swirled on top.
There are also two desserts which can be ordered to go. A cute chihuahua cake and a slightly threatening biting mushroom cake.
